Supporting Processes for Additive Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing of metals and ceramics has been in the spotlight for years—but the focus is usually on the actual printing process. What is often overlooked is that the key factors influencing quality, cost-effectiveness, and reproducibility lie in pre-, in-, and post-processing. These industry workshops therefore focus on the accompanying process steps, which account for a significant portion of the value creation. From design strategies, material selection, and feedstock production in preprocessing, through furnace processes such as debinding and sintering in in-processing, to cleaning, surface finishing, and testing in postprocessing—we take a holistic view of the entire process chain. The program is complemented by presentations on simulation, quality assurance, and component marking.
